Michele Greco is member of the Work Package WP4 that addresses the definition and assessment of flooding scenarios and cascading effects.

image4He is Associate Professor at the School of Engineering at the University of Basilicata since 1994. Graduated in Civil Engineering, Land Defence and Territorial Planning at the University of Basilicata in1989, he got the PhD in Hydrodynamics at the university consortium of Genoa, Florence, Padua and Trento. Former member of the National EIA Commission, at the Ministry of the Environment in 2000, was Director of the National Civil Protection Department in the field of anthropogenic, industrial, energy, transport and nuclear risks, as well as Coordinator of functional areas in support of the Commissioner Emergency Waste of Campania. His research activity is mainly focused on the fields of hydraulics, river hydraulics, maritime modelling, renewable energies and environmental monitoring interacting with national and international research centres. He is a member of the board of the National Coastal Research Group (GNRAC), Scientific Director of the Fondazione Ambiente Ricerca della Basilicata (FARBAS) and participated as project leader and/or senior expert in several national and international research projects. He is the scientific and technical coordinator of several study and research projects on environmental issues related to the enhancement of natural resources, water management, indexation of environmental issues, coastal dynamics, marine litter, environmental modelling, and more. He is a reviewer for several international journals and is the author of over 120 national and international scientific publications
